Dr. Woodburn was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Anne Arundel County. She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. Dr. Woodburn joined the staff of Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital in 1985 after the birth of her first child. She enjoyed the flexibility of working part-time while raising her two sons, but now that they are off at college, she has returned to practice full time.

While Dr. Woodburn enjoys all areas of veterinary practice, she has special interests in surgery and abdominal ultrasound. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Greater Baltimore Veterinary Medical Association, and the Anne Arundel County Veterinary Medical Association. The Woodburn household has had a wide variety of animal friends over the years. Currently the menagerie includes three rescued terriers, a labrador retriever, frogs, doves, and a very interesting cat.
