Dr. Keegan was born and raised in central New York.  She has always had a passion for science and animals, and pursued a BS in biology and marine science from the University of Miami.  She received her veterinary degree from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  During her summers in veterinary school she volunteered in Central America at vaccination and spay/neuter clinics and also worked in research.  After completion of her veterinary degree, she pursued a one year small animal rotating internship at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Keegan's husband's family are long-term residents of Maryland.  She has special interests in dermatology,  geriatric care, and preventive medicine.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and children, and her rescue dogs Kodiak and Chewbacca.
